Once a working farmhouse, the DD Residence has been transformed into a serene rural retreat by local designer Pieter Vanrenterghem. His design embraces simplicity, warmth, and craftsmanship, using natural materials to create a timeless space.

Pieter preserved the estate’s Flemish pastoral history while modernizing the main house and its four outbuildings. The main house features open-plan living, three bedrooms, and three bathrooms, plus two additional bedrooms with ensuites in the surrounding structures. Some buildings serve as a bed and breakfast, while others house a fitness space with an indoor pool and a grand party hall for gatherings.
The interiors of the DD Residence reflect Belgian design traditions, emphasizing warmth and tactile materials. Pieter used natural stone from Belgian suppliers, Moroccan Tadelakt lime plaster, and walnut timber joinery to add character. Dark oak herringbone flooring and restored timber beams in the party hall add a touch of elegance.

Pieter’s favorite spot is the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area in the main house. This cozy space features design icons like Michel Ducaroy’s Togo sofa, Pierre Jeanneret’s Easy Chair, and Poul Kjærholm’s PK22 Easy Chair.
This DD Residence showcases how modern luxury design can be simple, slow, and thoughtful, creating spaces that feel human and inviting. By focusing on natural materials and clean lines, Pieter Vanrenterghem has crafted a retreat that is both timeless and grand.
