American walnut structure in coffee or black oak finish, steel tubing supports the leather seat and backrest. Eight visible steel rivets accent the minimalist design.
The Monk Armchair was originally designed in 1973 by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Molteni&C. Reissued as part of the Heritage Collection, it reflects the Scarpa duo’s minimalist yet expressive approach to form and structure. The chair is built with a solid American walnut frame, offered in coffee oak or black oak finishes, paired with a wrapped leather seat and backrest supported by steel tubing.
Its defining feature is the exposed structure, two side frames connected by a suspended seat, anchored with eight visible steel rivets. The result is a clean, monastic silhouette that balances architectural clarity with material richness.
