It was introduced in the 1960s with an original solid walnut-stained beechwood frame and an upholstered seat and backrest that were available in fabric and leather.

Since the design is not associated with a major furniture producer, it is now widely offered by smaller brands and even some Etsy stores in a variety of finishes. The original designs however can still be found on reputable auction platforms.
