Sera Helsinki, founded by Anna Suoheimo, was inspired by her time in Ethiopia, where she lived for five years. Working alongside local artisans, she discovered the durability of wool in crafting rugs, especially their remarkable ability to resist stains. Drawing from the beauty of Finnish nature, Anna began designing rugs, marking the inception of Sera Helsinki’s first collection.

Driven to give back to Ethiopia, Anna collaborated with eight skilled women. In 2016, Sera Helsinki was officially established in Ethiopia, aiming to support vulnerable groups, particularly individuals with disabilities, showcasing their talents in creating exquisite, in-demand products.
