About
This is our story.
Furnishing your home should feel exciting, not overwhelming. Yet for so many people, it is the opposite: endless scrolling, mixed styles, costly mistakes, and spaces that never quite feel like home.
aêtava was created to change that. We believe everyone deserves a simple, enjoyable way to design their space with confidence. Whether you are furnishing your first apartment or your forever home, you should be able to explore your ideas, discover what you love, and bring it all together beautifully.
Our platform, Styleboard, gives you a blank canvas to mix, match, and design using real products from multiple brands. You can start from designer-made Blueprints if you need inspiration or create your own design from scratch. Everything happens in one place, from planning your layout to checking fit to purchasing directly from your favorite brands.
aêtava began with a simple observation: people love design, but the process often feels complicated and inaccessible. Our mission is to make interior design feel intuitive, personal, and empowering for everyone.
Our Founders
Ali Goodarzi // Design Lead
Ali has spent over 20 years in architecture and interior design, including several years leading design teams at West Elm. Working closely with both clients and customers, he saw how many people wanted to design their own homes but didn’t have the right tools. That experience became the starting point for aêtava.
Calvin Tsang // Technology Lead
Calvin has over ten years of experience building apps and digital platforms. He focuses on making Styleboard fast, reliable, and easy to use. His approach combines technical precision with a clear goal: to create technology that feels effortless.
We are based in Toronto and united by a simple belief: design should feel joyful, not stressful. Our goal is to empower anyone, not just designers, to create spaces that truly reflect who they are.
Welcome to aêtava.
Let’s make your space feel like home.
We are currently part of 2 incubators from the Toronto Metropolitan University (former Ryerson), the DMZ, and the Innovation Boost Zone. We are also part of the Cooperathon 2022 by the Desjardins.
