X + L
and Their Wall-Art 
x + l is Xander Vervoort and Leon van Boxtel, the two founders of the interior design studio founded in 1996 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. With their background in art and theater, x + l are recognized for their modern yet organic approach in creating stunning hand-made art pieces.
Most of their work revolves around wall-art while offering smaller objects and products as part of their collection. Their designs have been featured in numerous galleries around the world and although the studio consists of just the two founders, they have had collaborations with artists close to them helping them maintain the personal identity of x + l.
In this story, we will cover a small collection of their hand-made wall-art which has been categorized into dip-dyed and collage.

dip-dyed
The dip-dyed collection is individually dyed pieces of handwoven khadi silk stitched together to form an often abstract composition. The art pieces are backed with horsehair and lined with silk, which are then stretched over hardwood frames. They are available in an array of different sizes.
they like the irregularity in the products: being able to see the human touch gives it an extra. they embrace the imperfect and hope you will appreciate this as well.

collage
The Collage pieces of x + l are artwork made with individually dyed pieces of handwoven silk layered onto a wooden board creating an abstract composition. They are designed using a precise selection of colors and textures offering a unique combination of shapes, forms, and feelings. These collage pieces are made with a higher level of complexity and often provide more contrast compared to the subtle tones of the dip-dyed collection.
Although the artwork might seem simple and primitive, they are each narrating a rather sophisticated tale of internal awareness which makes them the highlight of x + l work.
