Kuu is Finnish for moon; and it’s the first thing that comes to your mind when noticing the lights. They can appear as various shapes just by rotating the face or inner circle of the pendant. They’re designed to provide either direct or indirect lighting for any space and their cordless structure allows you to rotate them endlessly.

Kuu pendant was inspired by my affection to atmospheric illumination. I wanted to make a lamp that is adjustable from direct to indirect lighting according to the versatile needs we have regarding light during distinct times of the day. The movability of the lamp brings it a constantly changing figure that forms different sized crescents and round shapes,
reminding of the moon during various periods.

The light is so unique that there has been several replicas on the market either identical to the Kuu pendant, or with some slight alterations. It was mentioned before that Mater will be producing these lights, but it is still not on their website.

The greatest strength of the Kuu pendant is the intuitive interaction it provides for the user. You can effortlessly change it however you want in order to set the mood you desire. It is perfect for a typical modern space as it has straight and curved lines that suit the contemporary interior language very well. It comes in 2 main shapes and is all black. You can use them on their own or place them as a group to illuminate different parts of your room.
